Seriti Films is a commercials, film and television production company that represents some of the industries finest directors, including: Thabang Moleya, who directed the major box office success Happiness is a Four Letter Word (2016), and Ernest Nkosi who directed Thina Sobabili, the official Oscar selected film in 2014. Paul Ramaema, another director at Seriti, is among the top young director to watch in the industry, he has a passion for creating premium creative branded visual content for clients and agencies who are wanting to engage with the expanding online audience (also known as viral or online content).

The company is lead by Leanne Kumalo, as Executive Producer, who has been producer in the industry for over 13years having worked alongside the company’s current creative directors. The collective industry experience between these key players is what makes Seriti Films one of the leading production houses. Kutlwano Ditsele

FOUNDING PARTNER - EXECUTIVE CREATIVE DIRECTOR FILM & TV

Kutlwano Ditsele has worked on over 500 episodes of Prime Time Television on the African continent. Kutlwano is the Executive Producer and founding partner of Seriti Films, where his passion for storytelling and expertise are instrumental. His work includes the cultural phenomena Ayeye, ground-breaking telenovela The Road which paid tribute to the legendary sounds of the 50’s, award-winning soon to be released feature film Back of the Moon and The Herd, a drama with an enigmatic supernatural storyline that is the most viewed drama series on the Multichoice platform in history.
Future projects with Seriti include a telenovela for South African entertainment channel Mzansi Magic and the development of nine films after being awarded funding from the National Film and Video Foundation. Kutlwano's passion is amplifying uniquely African stories that bring awareness to the African experience. In both film and television he brings a naturalistic approach to his storytelling, striving for honesty and intimacy on screen.

Leanne Kumalo

FOUNDING PARTNER - MANAGING DIRECTOR & EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Leanne Kumalo, Managing Director of Seriti Films, leads the company’s strategic and business operations. Leanne comes with 15 years of experience in managing creative talent and productions, as an Executive Producer.
Kumalo completed both her degrees, BA honours, AFDA (2004), as well as PDBA, GIBS (2009), Cum Laude, and while at GIBS, Leanne was awarded with the highest achievement in Marketing, and has continued to use both her business acumen and passion for entertainment to add value to various aspects of the industry.

Thabang Moleya

FOUNDING PARTNER - DIRECTOR COMMERCIALS, FILM/TV

Thabang Moleya directs mainly in two areas of Seriti, long from division (The Herd/The Imposter S2) and commercials division, with a strong passion in both forms of story telling. Having worked with top creative agencies in the country in collaboration with leading brands, Thabang has worked with Brands such as Vodacom, DStv, Ford, and Brothers For Life to name a few.
Moleya’s debut feature film Happiness Is A Four Letter Word, still remains one of the highest performing films to ever release in South Africa in its opening weekend which earned him a nomination at the Africa Movie Academy Awards for Best First Time Feature. With an IEMMY nomination already under his belt, Thabang loves story-telling. He has recently directed one of the biggest co-production dramas in Africa, “Professionals”, with a combined budget of 27 million US dollars.
